It's just the beginning...

On the Horizon

My name is Andrew Lloyd, and you should know that great things are on the horizon - for our community and our neighborhoods! I'm a Constitutional Conservative, a Christian, a Husband, Father and Grandfather, and a diligent and dedicated advocate of the justice system! As a licensed and practicing trial attorney for over 22 years, I am ready to step in as your next Judge for Wise and Jack Counties, when the Honorable Brock Smith retires from the 271st District Court bench at the end of his term in December 2026.

I announced my campaign for this honorable seat because I believe in serving my community and know the public trust in this office is sacred. I believe that you and our fellow citizens want a Judge who is fair, impartial, practical, and authentic - a Judge who sustains the rule of law and treats all persons with dignity and respect. In essence, there is a need for a Judge like me who is : Just. Real. Honest.

Just.

True justice is a hallmark of our American jurisprudence. All citizens have a right to the justice system, and their voices should be heard. A Judge should serve with dignity and respect, and even his personal lifestyle should reflect the great ideals of our forefathers. I adhere to the great canons pronounced in the Texas Code of Judicial Conduct, which outline the principles of participating in, establishing, maintaining, and enforcing high standards of conduct ... "so that the integrity and independence of the judiciary is preserved." I also know that our great nation, and particularly the Great State of Texas, was founded on moral principles, and thus we each have an obligation to uphold the laws of the land. I intend to preside over the courtroom with fairness, equality, efficiency, and decorum - the type of courtroom the public would demand to maintain law and order. I believe that if respect is lost within the walls of the Courthouse, lawlessness abounds without.

Real.

I have litigated in courtrooms across Texas for over two decades. I am a former prosecutor (assistant District Attorney) and have also worked as a defense attorney. I have handled cases in matters of probate, civil litigation, personal injury, contracts, family law (divorces, adoptions, CPS cases) and many others. This wealth of experience speaks to my true authentic ability in this professional career. But what's special about me is that I'm not lost in the arrogance of my trade. I am an ethical, practical, and often cheerful advocate, who recognizes common sense. It was Ralph Waldo Emmerson who said, "Common sense is genius dressed in its working clothes." My nonsensical and direct approach is why so many local lawyers, Judges, and colleagues have continuously requested that I serve as a Mediator for them. Mediation is an out-of-court dispute resolution process to resolve conflicts - taking cases off of the Court's docket! I have assisted the Courts' efficiency by mediating countless cases since law school, which not only reduces the number of trials and hearings but has saved clients, taxpayers, and Courts thousands of hours and thousands of dollars.

Honest.

Thomas Jefferson said "Honesty is the first chapter in the book of Wisdom." Not only does God require it of us as one of the basic Ten Commandments, but I sincerely know that honesty and integrity are vital tenets for a Judge. I stand by the adage that your word truly is your bond. I believe no one should ever tell a lie. Deceit literally defies the very oath we hear repeated in courtrooms across the country - to tell the truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I readily believe that discernment is a blessing that must be prayerfully sought and carefully used, so that one may distinguish between truth and error. We make judgments and choices every day, and the consequences of our actions are inevitable. While some actions may require swift and immediate punishment; others require more delicate grace, restitution, and rehabilitation. My ability to discern these distinctions uniquely qualify me as your next Judge.

In summary

I am a man who loves God, Family, and Service. I am asking for your vote as District Judge to maintain the public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary that the people of Wise and Jack County demand. I will work hard, every day, on your behalf, so that justice may be done and the rule of law upheld. Though evil forces continually wake and creep, our God's masterful and marvelous miracles continue to powerfully unfold in our lives, State, and Country! With His blessing and yours, I pray we keep it that way!
